Northstar Designs, our small welding and fabricating company, was established in 1989 by my wife, Cheryl, and myself, Jack McCloud. We are located in Nevada City, a small town nestled in the high Sierra Foothills of Northern California. It has been a life long passion and desire of mine to work with metals, wood and color. The metals are skillfully forged, hammered and burned for effect. The wood is used for accent and variety. Once a piece is designed and created, the colors are applied by various methods. The inspiration for the designs coincides with images of nature, history and culture, which brings metal, art and nature all together as one. There are never two pieces exactly the same.
